Karen started her over 30-year career in hospitality as a front desk clerk at the Salt Lake City Marriott. Since then, she has remained in the hospitality industry, gaining experience across multiple brands and a wide range of roles.
During her time in Milwaukee, WI, Karen served as the General Manager at a Holiday Inn Express, where she won several awards from IHG. From there she transitioned to a corporate role as Director of Marketing and Revenue for the hotel's ownership and management company. She spent 11 years in this position, travelling across a diverse portfolio of hotels that represented multiple brands.
Looking for a change, she most recently took a big leap and moved to working for Best Western out of Phoenix, AZ as a Regional Revenue Manager, where she focused solely on revenue management for 9 years in southeastern Texas. She is now looking forward to bringing her vast knowledge and skillset earned after decades of hard work to Slate Hospitality Group.
Karen and her husband now reside on the Gulf Coast and enjoy living close to the beach and playing with their five grandkids.
